Neuromodulators are cosmetic injectables that, upon injection, relax facial muscles to accomplish multiple aesthetic and anti-aging goals. The primary use of these injectables is to smooth dynamic wrinkles on the upper half of the face, which form as a result of repetitive expressions.

Every time you squint, raise, or furrow your eyebrows, frown, or laugh, your muscles contract, which forces your skin into different positions. Over time, the skin responds to the natural aging process, and its foundation weakens due to reduced collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production.

Treating Dynamic Wrinkles and Concern

Dynamic wrinkles form the upper half of the face, and while topical products can help soften wrinkles, none can deliver the dramatic results that neuromodulators can. These two cosmetic neuromodulators use an active ingredient called botulinum toxin A to block communication between the brain and muscles so that they no longer contract.

In the state of rest, the muscles no longer force the skin into those repetitive expressions, which leads to smoother and younger-looking skin. Both deliver long-lasting yet temporary results; regular follow-up treatments are necessary to maintain the desired effects long-term.

NEUROMODULATORS

Dysport®

Dysport®is a cosmetic injectable that qualifies as a neuromodulator and works similarly to BOTOX®. It’s specifically designed to treat frown lines that form between the eyebrows and temporarily promote a more youthful-looking appearance.


Upon an initial injection, patients can expect to see improvements in their frown lines within two to three days, and results last anywhere from three to six months. Regular injections can help patients keep frown lines at bay long term and maintain their ideal appearance.

BOTOX®

BOTOX® is the most popular injectable available for cosmetic use and has been around for over 20 years. It’s versatile, and its uses can help patients target multiple concerns during one treatment. Typically, when used to treat aging-related concerns, results appear within a week of treatment, and the best results are visible within one month.


Results last approximately three to four months. We can use BOTOX® to treat cosmetic concerns and aesthetic imperfections and temporarily relieve symptoms of medical conditions.

NEW! Jeuveau®

Jeuveau is a popular wrinkle treatment that is injected in the muscles that cause frown lines to form.

Jeuveau prevents your nerves from telling your muscles to flex or contract. This process smooths the appearance of “dynamic” frown lines — like the ones from years of frowning at your phone.

The effects can last for up to 4 months while the muscle activity gradually returns. 


DOES JEUVEAU WORK AS WELL AS BOTOX® COSMETIC?

Jeuveau was studied against Botox® Cosmetic in the largest head-to-head phase III study in frown lines to see whether Jeuveau was inferior to a conventional legacy brand. This study evaluated 540 adults with moderate to severe frown lines and showed that Jeuveau is not inferior to Botox® Cosmetic.2*

Treating Cosmetic Concerns

Neuromodulators is FDA-approved to smooth dynamic expression lines in three specific areas of the face, including the forehead, the area between the eyebrows, and the area at the outer corners of the eyes. We can also use it for aesthetic purposes outside of general use.

Lip Flips

Many patients turn to dermal fillers to augment their lips and achieve their desired level of fullness. However, some patients aren’t ready to commit to dermal fillers for lip augmentation but still want natural and subtle volume. During a lip flip treatment, we will inject a specific amount of Neuromodulators into areas of the upper lip to relax the muscles and subtly enhance the appearance by creating a fuller-looking lip.

Bunny Lines

Bunny lines form on the upper half and sides of the nose and are most visible when smiling or laughing. These lines often result from a contracting nasalis muscle. If you have bunny lines, we can use Neuromodulators to relax that muscle to make those lines less noticeable for several months at a time.

Downturned Corners Of The Mouth

Also known as DAO, downturned corners of the mouth affect many men and women as they age. Their smile changes and turns downward, often noticeable when the face is at rest. Injections into some specific muscles around the mouth can improve this condition and restore a youthful and more aesthetically pleasing expression.

Mentalis

The mentalis chin muscle is located in the lower half of the face and, with aging, can cause skin changes and contribute to the appearance of downturned corners of the mouth. Injections into this area can relax the muscle to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance and help patients reach different aging and cosmetic-related goals.

Brow Lift

Another one of the signs of aging that affects many men and women is a heavy brow. Gravity combined with elastin and collagen loss can cause the eyebrows to sag, contributing to an aged appearance. We can use Neuromodulators to perform a non-surgical brow lift to temporarily lift the eyebrows upward to improve facial aesthetics and reduce the signs of aging.

Gummy Smile

When you smile, there are muscles within the upper lip that extend into the nose that contract, pulling the lip upward. For some, this does not negatively affect their appearance, but for others, it reveals a gummy smile. Many of those with a gummy smile feel less confident about the appearance of their smile. Still, we can address this issue by injecting Neuromodulators into those muscles to temporarily relax them to hide the gums and promote patient confidence.

Lid Ptosis

Lid ptosis is a condition also known as eyelid drooping that often worsens with the aging process. While many factors can contribute to this condition, it typically results from aging. We can improve lid ptosis with Neuromodulators injections into the area to temporarily relax specific muscles to open the eyes and promote a younger-looking appearance.

TMJ/Massetters

Masseter Neuromodulators is a treatment that involves injecting the product into the jaw muscles to temporarily alleviate the symptoms associated with TMJ pain. Many patients experience TMJ due to teeth clenching, but with Neuromodulators, we can relax these muscles to reduce pain and improve quality of life.

Migraine Relief

Patients who experience regular migraines and have not achieved relief from medications or other traditional techniques may benefit from Neuromodulators injections to relieve pain. We can inject this product into different muscles in the head and neck to relieve migraine pain so patients can experience fewer migraine days each month.

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis affects many men and women and results in excessive sweating from the armpits, hands, feet, or a combination of all three. This condition often has nothing to do with elevated body temperature or strenuous activity, and it can affect patients’ confidence and self-esteem.


This neuromodulator can treat hyperhidrosis and how it affects multiple body areas, including the armpits, hands, and feet. Injections into specific muscles will affect sweat glands and reduce excessive sweating to promote an improved quality of life.
